Double bill

March 6, 2010

Airplane! by Jim Abrahams and David Zucker is a funny movie. I knew it was based on the 1957 airliner drama, Zero Hour! (Abrahams and Zucker with the exclamation point even), I had just never seen Dana Andrews and Sterling Hayden in Zero Hour! (no WWII Japanese fighter planes were injured in the making of this movie).

Just watched ZH! recently and I couldn’t stop laughing. Every line evokes the Abrahams and Zucker movie. In fact, Airplane!/ Zero Hour! could be one of the funniest double bills ever. Watch Airplane! then Zero Hour!

You will laugh. In fact, after seeing A!, you may find ZH! to be the funnier film. Some enterprising empresario should package the DVDs and sell them as a set.
